What inspired the creation of KUMIKO Skincare?
In 2017, renowned Chilean esthetician Catalina Aguirre created KUMIKO, a line of dermocosmetic products with revolutionary anti-aging formulas that use 100% Organic Japanese Matcha Tea as their main active, combined with her experience in mesotherapy treatment and encapsulating technology, to revitalize the skin from the inside out. The brand was introduced in Chile, in 2018, continuing its international expansion, which today includes presence in United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Panama and Colombia.
Tell us more about Catalina Aguirre, the Founder of KUMIKO Skincare!
Catalina is a journalist, teacher and esthetician, expert in anti-aging cosmetic treatments, with more than 15 years of experience in patient care.

“It is what I was looking for, as a cosmetologist, to offer my patients and I couldn't find it together in one and only brand. There were no dermocosmetic products gathered in a single line that convinced me 100% to respond to the different problems of skin aging. How did the name KUMIKO Skincare come to be?
KUMIKO means “Eternal Beauty” in Japanese. After studying Japanese culture exhaustively, it took two years for Catalina Aguirre to create the master formula with Proteoglycans and Glycosaminoglycans combined with Matcha Tea, Vitamins C and E. The task was not small, KUMIKO needed to target every skin type and all genres, it also needed to be cruelty, parabens and gluten free, the matcha tea extract had to be 100% organic and the brand would have to embrace important values such as self-love, empowerment and generosity. Last but not least, it needed to foster the Clean Beauty principles right from the start, this was non-negotiable for Aguirre.

An anti-aging concentrate, presented in vials, that helps to defend the skin against multiple signs of aging and damage, with an advanced combination of antioxidants and moisturizers, acting against loss of firmness, wrinkles and fine lines.
It contains highly concentrated 5% marine Proteoglycans and Glycosaminoglycans, plus Vitamins C and E, and 100% Organic Matcha Tea extract.

Could you share a skincare secret with us?
“A skincare secret that I recommend is the application of the eye contour cream with draining massages performed with the fingertips, to help the lymphatic system to drain this area and eliminate toxins, as well as reduce cellular oxidation, the accumulation of liquid and the formation of dark circles under the eyes.
Another beauty tip is to use a silk cover on your pillow to preserve the freshness of your skin and hair. Being soft and smooth, it prevents the appearance of wrinkles, maintains the perfect temperature and does not absorb night dermo-cosmetic products, such as creams or serums. In addition, the silk cover is hypoallergenic and soothing, also ideal for sensitive or atopic skin.
