What inspired the creation of Adoratherapy?

The desire was to disrupt the essential oil and perfume categories with formulations that were healing and breathtaking. In my own life I found self-care is only one part of the journey. My own healing work uncovered the need for a deeper understanding of my mind, body and soul. Essential oils + breath + intention empowered me to create daily rituals in which I took the time to adore myself.

How did you come up with the name Adoratherapy?

The name is a play on the words Adoration and aromatherapy. Putting them together created this imagery of a new way to heal through self-love and breathwork.

Tell us all about Auras and Aura Therapy!

Every living organism is surrounded by an electromagnetic energy field called an Aura. This field vibrates at different frequencies and reflects our state of mind, body and inner being. Every color has a different vibrational frequency and is associated with various chakras or energy centers in the body. Your Aura colors are determined by physical, mental, emotional and spiritual states of being. Visualizing your Aura can help you with various aspects of your life. The colors of your Aura provide insight into your emotions, thoughts, and state of mind, allowing you to gain spiritual awareness. Auratherapy is taking the data from our aura scanner and informing the subject on how they can come into balance. We use aromatherapy to anchor the breath and provide them with affirmations to support their desire for a deeper healing.

How do Adoratherapy scents affect your mood?

There is a powerful connection between olfaction and the limbic center of our brain which regulates our physiology including mood, memory and emotion. When breathing in essential oil blends made with pure plant aromas, we can literally transform how we feel in the moment, positively shifting the way we relate to ourselves, our personal and professional relations and ultimately the world around us. By creating formulas with aromatics made from plant products, we look to stimulate the senses in a way that awakens the joys and passions of humanity. The greater we feel the more this creates a bridge to allow for our greatest self-expression to surface. When you transform your mood you transform your awareness, ultimately transforming your consciousness.

What is your staple Adoratherapy product and why?

Our Chakra perfume oils are uniquely formulated organic essential oils and absolutes in a base of organic jojoba blend. These healing synergies are ready to roll on your body, palms and neck to open your chakras and awaken your senses. They go beyond perfume offering a tool kit for living your best life. With seven chakras you can work on a specific aspect of your mind body spirit, or simply pick a scent that you connect with deeply and use it daily as an act of self-love. Many brands have one hero product, in our case it’s this hero collection.

How do you know which Adoratherapy product is best for you?

Pick a chakra to work on based on where you feel you can use the most support to release held and stuck energy. Some of us hold it on our sacral chakra, the seat of our emotions and feeling, while others could experience this in the heart chakra or throat. We provide education and support in assessing what might be most helpful. Most people know exactly what they need and allow themselves to intuitively select the right scent or chakra to heal.

What are Adoratherapy’s key ingredients? How does Adoratherapy source their ingredients?  

We pay great attention to green tenets of business and focus on sustainability, opting for organic, biodynamic and wild-crafted growing methods for the essential oils we blend in our products. With proper planting, growing, harvesting, and distillation techniques, the quintessence of each plant is nurtured and brought forth for proper use. These plants grow to embody their perfection and fulfill their ability to help transform, rejuvenate, and balance the human condition. Our oils come from around the world and are vibrational and healing. They are not mass produced oils instead coming from smaller distillers and farms.

Walk us through your morning routine!

Before I open my eyes I tell myself I adore myself. I notice where my hands are, as I often am healing myself in my sleep, placing them on my stomach or chest. I ask for protection and send love and protection to my beloveds, family, friends, and all humanity. I drink tea in bed and read for a bit. I take a bath each morning and soak in hot water, washing away my concerns, worries, aches & pains and as the water goes down the drain send these aspects away. Most every day I use Vitality Chakra Perfume oil or Chakra 1 Aroma perfume to root myself. Grounding is key for a busy CEO. I then think of my day. Will I need creativity, an open heart, more motivation? Our products are designed to support all of these aspects. I spray, roll on and anoint. I take deep breaths with each scent asking for what I desire from that breath. I visualize the color of that chakra and swirl the breath inside and around my chakra. My desire each day is to be my best self and feel what I want to feel. I start each day as an observer of myself and over the years have become quite aware of my energy. This continues throughout the day with many moments of recentering.

What has been your most memorable moment with Adoratherapy?

Opening our store transformed my understanding of the business. Working in the store and actively being engaged in healing, coaching and sharing my vision is incredibly fulfilling.

How do you like to spend your free time?

I love to work. My children are grown up. I have few constraints. It’s finally okay for me to let myself focus on what matters most to me. Right now, it’s allowing myself to move into more creative and content roles over the operational and sales roles I typically get pulled into. So for me taking photos or working in Canva to brief an email is blissful. I also love design and antiquing and dogs & cats.

How has Adoratherapy evolved throughout the years? 

We started as a manufacturer selling wholesale. We were separated from our end consumer. Although we grew fast and were in over 500 doors, we were missing the secret ingredient to success. YOU! Our products come to life with our customer’s breath and intention. So, we needed to be able to show them how, and explain why. Today we are focused on opening more stores. We are reopening wholesale channels looking to be in the right environments. What we have learned is that a highly vibrational products requires different selling conditions than a typical beauty product. That is why we see ourselves as a conscious beauty brand.

Is Adoratherapy looking to expand into new products in the near future?

We have a large portfolio of products with candles, perfumes and body care. We introduced Aura readings in our store in Asheville North Carolina and this has been phenomenal. We are looking at more ways to incorporate services with products.

What’s next for Adoratherapy?

Opening a second store and then hopefully more. We are beginning to map out locations and store formats. Bringing the entire vision together, a truly experiential healing retail experience that transcends a spa or beauty store.
